Trade Unions willing to support President to eradicate terrorism

(DM)Workers Unions said yesterday that they are willing to cast aside their economic woes in order to support the President in his efforts to eradicate terrorism.

Secretary of the Sri Lanka Workers, Union Leslie Devendra speaking at a press conference held yesterday to announce plans for May Day activities said, “As a union connected to the United Peoples’ Freedom Alliance we see this rally as a milestone, where peace and a victory over the war is imminent.” He said as the members of the working class they can no longer focus only on wages and the like but would now consider the greater, and the more pertinent cause of eradicating terrorism.
