Lanka Govt clearing 1000 acres of forest for 'relief village'

(newsonair)With reports of more and more people crossing over to the government controlled territory, the issue of their resettlement is now gaining ground. 8000 semi-permanent dwellings are being planned in the first phase of the proposed Vavuniya "Relief Village" to be set up by the Government for the displaced civilians. Talking to AIR, Re-settlement Minister, Mr. Rishard Bathiudeen said around 1000 acres of jungle land is being cleared for the purpose. Full Text
