Activists take Lankan issue to Delhi

(EB)CHENNAI: About 150 activists of the “Voice for Lankan Tamils” left for New Delhi on Tuesday morning to protest against the Centre’s “indifference” to the plight of Sri Lankan Tamils and to raise awareness on the issue. The group will also meet MPs of various political parties and urge them to speak in favour of their cause in Parliament.

The group, comprising mostly students, boarded the train from the Egmore railway station with several supporters gathering at the platform to see them off. The activists will stage a rally on February 12 in Delhi. The students from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi University and Jamia Millia University are expected to join them.
