Media, Freedom Fighters and Terrorists

(TI)During the last few weeks, the International Media, Human Rights Agencies and some western countries gave ‘slanted’ publicity to the war in Sri Lanka. As usual they showed only one side of the picture and pressured the Govt. to negotiate displaying their partiality towards them. At present , on the verge of imminent defeat the tigers are holding non-combatant civilians as human shields. The above ‘Groups’ are giving prominence to this so that the tigers will have breathing space during negotiations and strengthen themselves as in the past. If they are so concerned about human rights etc., they should call on the LTTE to release the civilians to the safer zones declared by the Govt. Full Text
