NGOs received Rs.28 million to prevent Sri Lanka Army defeating LTTE

Colombo, 01 June, (Asiantribune.com): The Sri Lanka Government is now investigating how a certain international institution had distributed Rs. 28 million among eight NGOs to spend this money and try to prevent the Sri Lanka Army from defeating the LTTE. The Army Intelligence Unit has already identified the heads of the eight NGOs in question, an Army Intelligence spokesman said on Sunday.

This large sum of money had been disbursed among the eight NGOs just after the Sri Lanka Army had captured Mallawi, which had been under the control of the Tigers. Full text
