Fishing restrictions relaxed in Sri Lanka

Colombo, 01 June, (Asiantribune.com): Fishermen from the North West and South of Sri Lanka are overjoyed today because after nearly 20 years, fishermen are now allowed to engage in fishing in the seas off Mannar and Pesalai.

Ministry of Fisheries said that now that the war with the LTTE is over, the fishermen from the west could engage in fishing using 28 ft to 30 ft boats. Full text
