EDITORIAL COMMENT | After The War

(TOI)The ghosts of war have come to haunt Colombo. A respected UK-based newspaper has accused the Sri Lankan government of massacring 20,000 Tamil civilians during the last phase of the fight against the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). Colombo has rubbished the news report as a figment of imagination and has refused to investigate the allegations. This is contrary to the reconciliatory gestures made by Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa towards the Tamil community since the war ended. Full text
