Controversial vessel expected this week

(DM)The controversial aid-carrying vessel ‘Captain Ali’ has decided to go ahead with its mission to Sri Lanka and is expected to arrive at the perimeter of Sri Lanka’s territorial waters this week despite the government not giving it clearance to do so.

A former Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission member Kristjan Guðmundsson -- who is onboard the vessel which is reportedly carrying essential items including food and medicines for the displaced people in the north – in a posting on a website said the ship was expected to reach Colombo on Friday. Full text
