SLN Chief :Tigers bought arms with the help of an African country

(TI)Admiral Karannagoda said that unlike his predecessors, President Rajapaksa didn’t give in to international pressure. Recalling New Delhi coming to Prabhakaran’s rescue during ‘Operation Liberation’, Sri Lanka’s first major ground offensive in May 1987, he said that the President faced heavy international pressure and criticism but didn’t waver in his firm commitment.

Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda on Tuesday (May 27) said that the LTTE had acquired millions of USD worth arms, ammunition and equipment from a leading arms supplier on the basis of end user certificates issued by a country in the African continent. Full text
