Names of IDPs over 60 in camps displayed

(DM)The government yesterday decided to display the names of displaced civilians over the age 60 at the District Secretariat and the Divisional Secretariats in Vavuniya so that their relatives could send in applications for their release.

Vavuniya District Secretary Mrs P.S.M. Charles told Daily Mirror yesterday that they had decided to send such elderly persons out of the welfare camps to live with their relatives. Mrs. Charles said. The names are now displayed at the District and Divisional Secretariats for their relatives to find them and take them home to live with them. “They can now apply to get their elderly relatives released from these camps,” she said.
