Britain seeking release of medic in IDP camp

(ST)The British High Commission is making every effort to secure the release of a Sri Lankan born British medic who ended up in a welfare camp for the internally displaced people in Vavuniya after she was trapped in the No-Fire-Zone during the final phase of the Eelam War.

High Commission spokesperson Dominic Williams told The Sunday Times that they had been in contact with Government officials to secure the release of the medic who was currently at the Menik Farm in Vavuniya. The camp is the home to more than 200,000 IDPs. Full text
