Appeal to elderly IDPs’ relatives

(DM)At a meeting held at the Presidential Secretariat to monitor the progress of providing relief to the displaced persons of the North in welfare villages presided over by Senior Presidential Advisor, Parliamentarian Basil Rajapaksa it was decided to allow the, feeble and injured or sick elderly persons among the IDPs to reunite with their families or kinsfolk so that they could be taken care of by their families, senior official sources at the Presidential Secretariat said yesterday.

It was decided that such kinsfolk who would come forward to get back any elderly or disabled members of their families should forward relevant documents like the householder’s lists through the relevant grama niladharis certified by the Divisional Secretaries to authenticate their identity.
