India does what India has to do

(lakbima)The visit of Indian Foreign Secretary Shivasankar Menon to Sri Lanka signifies the fact that India is not going to intervene into the Lankan problem directly - not in the foreseeable future at least.
The Tamil Nadu State Government, while urging the centre to intervene and ensure a truce to halt the ongoing offensive of the Sri Lankan Government, has long been demanding that India’s External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee be dispatched to Lankan soil to secure an understanding of the ground reality as regards the war-affected areas.
