Tamil MP hits out at India, Tamil Nadu

Law Reforms Deputy Minister V. Puthrasigamony charged in Parliament yesterday that India had already intervened in Sri Lanka’s ethnic issue.

“India has already poked its nose in Sri Lanka’s ethnic issue,” he said speaking during the debate on the Second Reading of the budget in Parliament.

Mr. Puthrasigamony also slammed Tamil Nadu stating the South Indian state government should not take the stand it had taken on Sri Lanka.

He charged the Tamil Nadu government was not extending any concessions to Sri Lankan refugees who had migrated there, although the refugees from Tibet enjoy many concessions. The minister said the Sri Lankan government was able to hold the GCE A/Level exam for the Lankan refugees in Tamil Nadu last year but holding it this year had become impossible. Full Text
