Indian Minister wants Prabha captured, handed over for Rajiv assassination

Indian Union Minister E. V. K. S. Elangovan (Congress) in an interview with popular South Indian Tamil weekly magazine Kumudam, out next Wednesday, said that he was not opposed to the Tamils in Sri Lanka but the LTTE and wanted Prabhakaran captured and handed over to India for the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi.

Following are excepts of the interview by Mr. Elangovan:

Question: Your remarks seemed to be against the Tamils in Elam? Why are you angry with Sri Lankan Tamils?

Elangovan: I never talked against Sri Lankan Tamils in Eelam. Instead, I have been raising support for their welfare. The Congress-led Central Government too has been stressing this factor only. "LTTE, the terrorist organization, should not be supported" is our view. "The Sri Lankan government should capture Prabhakaran - for the crime of killing Rajiv - and hand him over to the Indian government" is my view. Full Text
